How do I get fibre?

This is a crucial question for a growing number of dissatisfied South African Internet users.  Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) is no longer a pipe dream - something that only friends in foreign countries enjoy and take for granted and we can only wish for - FTTH is fast becoming a reality in many suburbs across the country.

The first thing you need to do is determine if your neighbourhood has a planned or existing FTTH network.  Frogfoot Networks have a coverage page where you can check to see if your suburb is covered.  If it is, a few simple steps will get you well on your way to the internet connection you've been dreaming of:

1)   Register your interest on the portal and provide us with your details.

2)   Check out the ISP offerings available in your suburb and pick one that best suits your needs.  Talk to the sales staff at the ISP if need be.

3)   Select your broadband package by simply clicking on the "Order" button.

If the fibre already runs past your house, it usually takes 4 to 6 weeks from order to install.  Once the order has been accepted, you will be contacted by an installations contractor to arrange for a site visit. During this visit you can discuss and seek guidance from the contractor with regards to what the options are for getting the fibre from your boundary wall into your home.

If the fibre is planned for your road, but does not yet run past your house, you can check the scheduled roll-out dates here on the portal and on the Facebook page for your suburb.

If there is no Frogfoot fibre planned for your suburb as yet, you are more than welcome to register your interest (using "other" on the suburb dropdown list) and get as many of your immediate neighbours to register too.  If there is overwhelming interest from your suburb, Frogfoot will consider including your suburb in our future rollout plans.

If the ISP of your choice is not yet affiliated to Frogfoot Fibre, please suggest to them that they contact us.  We are in discussions with a number of ISPs whose products are not yet listed on the portal, but there is always room for more.
